Beginning his musical journey later in high school, Alex quickly immersed himself in performing and recording with multiple punk bands over the following decade. During this time, he developed a strong understanding of harmony and music theory, further supported by seven years of formal piano study. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta, where he gained valuable insight into learning processes and personal development—tools he now applies to help students unlock their potential for creativity and self-expression through music.

Alex later completed the diploma exit requirements of the Bachelor of Music program at MacEwan University, specializing in guitar performance. This experience allowed him to refine his technical skills and deepen his understanding of both guitar and piano. He continues to perform as a guitarist and keyboardist with the Edmonton-based electro-pop band Limited Hangout.

In Romania, she honed her teaching skills at the School of Fine Arts in Lugoj and served as a Musical Supervisor at the Brasov Opera House.

After moving to Canada, Monica furthered her education at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, earning a Diploma in Education and additional training in music pedagogy. Over the past two decades, she has worked as a music specialist and contract teacher in various schools, including the Coquitlam School District and Parkland School Division. Her career is marked by a commitment to providing high-quality education in a caring and safe environment, tailoring her approach to meet the individual needs of her students.

Fluent in French as a second language, Monica brings a multicultural perspective to her teaching. She has participated in numerous professional development workshops on topics such as classroom management, curriculum adaptation, and Orff music for children, enhancing her ability to engage and inspire her students.

Over the years, her love for music grew, leading her to pursue voice lessons, choral singing, and eventually a professional career in music education.

As a classically trained soprano, Grace has honed her vocal skills through over ten years of rigorous voice training and more than fifteen years of choral singing. She has performed with some of Edmonton’s most prestigious choirs, including the Edmonton Columbian Choirs, Alberta Youth and Treble Choir, and currently, the Concordia Concert Choir, Ariose, and St. Benedict’s Evensong.

Grace’s extensive performance experience includes solo work in various recitals and concerts, where she has captivated audiences with her vocal clarity, emotional expression, and stage presence.

Grace’s academic achievements further underscore her commitment to music. In 2024, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Vocal Pedagogy and Performance Certificate from Concordia University of Edmonton. These credentials reflect her deep understanding of both the artistic and technical aspects of singing. Additionally, Grace is pursuing a Bachelor of Education at Concordia, with the goal of becoming an elementary music teacher, where she can inspire young minds through music.

With over 18 years of experience in the music and audio industries, Andrew Sutherland is a highly skilled composer, sound designer, and music educator. Based in Beaumont, Alberta, Andrew's expertise spans a wide array of musical genres from rock, metal, wind band, jazz, classical, electronic, and hip-hop. His technical prowess, honed through years as an audio engineer and multi-instrumentalist, complements his deep understanding of music theory and production.

Andrew's career has been built on a diverse portfolio, ranging from indie game audio design to directing concert and jazz bands at Bev Facey High School. Sophie is an accomplished violinist, having studied to a Grade 8 conservatory level. Her training includes private instruction, string ensemble participation, and music camps since the age of eight. In addition to her instrumental expertise, she has four years of formal vocal training with a focus on musical theatre and classical styles, while also having experience teaching contemporary pop singing.

Her musical experience extends to guitar and bass, with a strong foundation in rock music and performance in multiple bands. Sophie also plays trombone and ukulele, and is comfortable teaching students across all of these instruments.

With her strong classical foundation, particularly through violin studies, Sophie emphasizes the importance of music theory and proper technique in her teaching, regardless of the instrument or genre. Hailing from Northern Ireland, Carol's passion for music ignited at the tender age of 4, under the guidance of esteemed mentors Ruth White and Elizabeth McCausland. At 18, she ventured to Dublin, where her musical odyssey truly began at the College of Music, Dublin.

In Dublin, Carol immersed herself in the world of piano performance and pedagogy, emerging as a top graduate of her class and the proud recipient of the Frank O'Reilly Cup for Perpetual Excellence. Holding the prestigious distinction of being a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music, London, as well as possessing a Graduate Diploma in Music Teaching from the College of Music, Dublin, Carol stands as a beacon of musical proficiency and instructional prowess.

But her musical talents don't stop at the piano. With nearly three decades of teaching experience under her belt, Carol is equally accomplished as a clarinettist and piano accompanist. Her multifaceted musical expertise enriches the learning experiences of all who cross her path.

Carol's infectious enthusiasm for music and teaching is palpable, and she is thrilled to extend her love for both to the vibrant Beaumont community.
